Adrien Broner has indeed made his appearance and is primed for his upcoming bout.
The former four-division champion is gearing up for his long-awaited showdown against Blair Cobbs, both fighters comfortably making the welterweight limit of 147 pounds. Broner stepped onto the scales at a lean 146 pounds, while Cobbs came in at a shredded 145.6 pounds.
Their highly anticipated 10-round clash will serve as the main event of a Triller TV pay-per-view extravaganza scheduled for this Friday at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida.
Broner (35-4-1, 24 knockouts) is making his return to the ring exactly 52 weeks since his last outing. The 34-year-old from Cincinnati inked a deal with legendary promoter Don King last year, and his lone fight under that agreement resulted in a June 10 victory over Bill Hutchinson (20-3-4, 9 KOs) in Miami.
Leading up to the event, there were speculations about Broner's participation, but not only has he arrived, he has also enlisted the services of renowned trainer Calvin Ford for this bout.
Broner boasts an illustrious career, having captured titles in four weight divisions ranging from 130 to 147 pounds. However, he has been absent from the welterweight scene since his defeat to eight-division champion Manny Pacquiao in January 2019.
Meanwhile, Cobbs (16-1-1, 10 KOs) joined forces with King earlier this year, and the move quickly paid off as he secured the matchup he desired right off the bat.
This fight marks Cobbs' return to action following a 20-month hiatus from the ring. The Las Vegas-based fighter last outpointed former 140-pound champion Maurice Hooker (28-3-3, 19 KOs) in August 2022, bouncing back from a knockout loss to Alexis 'Lex' Rocha (24-2, 16 KOs) in March 2022. Notably, this bout also marked the conclusion of his contract with Golden Boy Promotions before landing this significant opportunity.
