Blockasset today announced experienced and innovative iGaming Executive Alexis Zamboglou as the group’s new Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder.

With a wealth of expertise in marketing, operations and compliance, Zamboglou was recently unanimously named the preferred candidate for the CEO position following a scrutinous and competitive recruitment process.

Having achieved success with some of the world’s largest iGaming operators, including William Hill, 888.com and Entain brands Ladbrokes and Coral, Zamboglou has been tasked with accelerating the growth of Blockasset, with particular focus on its GambleFi brand, BlockBet.

Zamboglou’s appointment is the first in a series of four key additions to Blockasset’s C-suite, all of which are set to be announced before the end of 2024.

“I see a huge opportunity for growth in this industry, one that doesn’t exist anywhere else in the gambling industry, and I’m very excited about it”, Zamboglou stated when asked about BlockBet’s growth potential within GambleFi.

The newly-appointed Blockasset CEO continued, “The Founders launched BlockBet in June, and I am absolutely amazed by the numbers so far. Massive month-on-month growth.”

Emphasising the importance of Web3 communities as a core strength for GambleFi brands, Zamboglou said “One thing that traditional gambling brands have always struggled with is creating communities around their brand. What sets GambleFi apart is the existing communities around brands from conception. At Blockasset, we’re fortunate to have a vibrant community of over 40,000 people who already hold our token, with all of them wanting this project to do well.” 

Upon welcoming Zamboglou on board, Blockasset Co-Founder, Paul Evans, said “We’re absolutely delighted to have Alexis join us as Blockasset CEO. In Zamboglou’s closing remarks on a piece of Blockasset social media content to confirm his appointment as CEO, he declared “A key part of our strategy at Blockasset will be to utilise revenues from our sportsbook and casino to buy back our own token, which drives more value into the Blockasset ecosystem, for holders of our token.”
